Cooperativismo agropecuário e suas contribuições para o empoderamento dos agricultores familiares no submédio São Francisco: o caso da associação de produtores rurais do núcleo VI – Petrolina/PE

Resumo 

Este trabalho tem por objetivo apresentar os benefícios e as vantagens que as cooperativas agropecuárias podem trazer para o fortalecimento da agricultura familiar, em especial dos agricultores da Associação de Produtores Rurais do Núcleo VI (APRNVI), no municí- pio de Petrolina/PE. No que se refere aos procedimentos metodológicos, foi realizada coleta de dados por meio de levantamento bibliográfico e de pesquisa de campo empreendida no período de março a maio de 2011, mediante aplicação de questionários estruturados com a totalidade dos associados vinculados à associação objeto deste estudo. Os resultados da pesquisa apontam que a constituição de uma cooperativa trará benefícios para seus cooperados, atuando como elemento de transformação social, contribuindo para promover o desenvolvimento local com base na geração de renda e mitigando a exclusão social. Agricultural cooperative and their contributions to the empowerment of family farmers in submedio San Francisco: the case of association of farmers core VI – Petrolina/PE

ABSTRACT

This work aims to present the benefits and advantages that agricultural cooperatives can bring to the strengthening of family farming, in particular, the farmers of the Association of Rural Producers Core VI (APRNVI) the city of Petrolina/PE. Regarding the methodological procedures, data collection was carried out through literature review and fieldresearch conducted in the period March-May 2011, through structured questionnaires with all the associated linked to the association object of this study. The survey results indicate that the formation of a cooperative will benefit its members, acting as an element of social transformation, helping to promote local development through income generation and alleviating social exclusion.
